wonder

It's so amazing when you take a step back and look at things with a clear head. I was at church this morning and I cried to a worship song that I love and I felt peace come over me. I try to do what is right but at the same time I need to take care of myself too. I'm challenging myself to do more YouTube videos about books and read them. I'm also going to challenge myself to slow down and do some meditation. I hope to see some change but it's super important that I stick to it. So starting tomorrow morning I will start my challenge and see what happens.

My day

So today I spent the day with my dad at Tarpon Springs.  If you haven't been there you must go and visit for the day.  Some of the things you can do are shopping, eating at the wonderful restaurants, and taking a cruise to see dolphins.  One of my favorite restaurants is Costas which is off the main road.   Another really cool thing to visit is the St.Michael's shrine. It is so pretty on the inside. But I will tell you that it is small. It is in a neighborhood but it does have parking. It is also free to go and see it.  There are bars to eat at like Anclote Brew which has amazing food and drinks.  You do have to pay for parking for the day. But it is worth it.  I suggest that you get there early in the week. I was there today and it wasn't crowded. Another tip is that you go online and look at what time the businesses open and close so you can plan your day.  So I hope you are able to visit this wonderful place.

Opportunities

Hello my readers! I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Today's topic is something that I would love to talk about so let's start.  Opportunities are a wonderful thing to experience because I find that when they come up you can either take it and run with it or you can run away from it.  I have an amazing opportunity to do a book review with a book club next month and I can't wait to do this. My other ones deal with my church and I can't wait for those either.  We as humans have so many opportunities in our lives and I really think that we should take them even if we get scared.  I hope that everyone has an amazing opportunity come their way soon. Question of the day: What are your top five favorite opportunities that have come your way?

Affirmations

Hello my readers!  Happy Sunday. I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you got a lot done on your to do lists.  This evening I would like to talk about affirmations.  So, what is the definition of affirmation? The dictionary has five definitions! 1. The act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed.  2. The assertion that something exists or is true. 3. Something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true. 4. Confirmation or ratification of the truth or validity of a prior judgment, decision, etc. 5. A solemn declaration accepted instead of a statement under oath. I find that this word is used so much these days that we need to take the time to learn more about it. The origin of the word is Latin and it came about in 1535-1545.  I see all over social media how we need to have an affirmation board and just repeat it each day and I think that this is a great idea but at the same time we also don't want to becom...

Review of Dinner at the Beach House Hotel

Hello my readers and Happy March 3rd!  I hope everyone is having a good day. So here is my review for Dinner at the Beach House Hotel written by: Judith Keim I am grading this book a B, because I felt that the author could have done better describing Florida. I understand she lives in Idaho.  This book I read out of order as this is book 3 in the series. So maybe I will give book 1 a try and see if I like that one.  You meet a lot of good characters in this book. I will not give any spoilers away but there is a chapter that describes a bad accident with one of the main characters in this book.  I would like to read more of her books and see what I think about them. This book in particular is very well written and you start to feel like you are with the characters every step of the way.  I do have a favorite character and that is Trudy the dog. I feel like she should have her own book series.  This author does both self-publish and she goes through a p...

Time for change

hello readers!  As you can see today's topic is all about change.  So what does it mean to you?  To me it means that anything you do can make a difference in the world.  We all know it starts with yourself. So, what can we do as people in need of change?  Well, first you start small like just by smiling at someone then go bigger. So here are some examples.  1. Smile at someone 2. Say thank you and please 3. Pick up trash when you see it 4. Put your shopping cart back where you got it 5. Open the door for someone  6. Volunteer at your local library or at a beach clean up 7. Volunteer at your local church or food drive These are some of the things that you can do. I know this list seems like it's not going to make a big difference but you will see it in your life and in those you help. I also like to sign petitions for a good cause. Like your local animal shelter.  These days the world is going crazy and we all need to make a difference for th...

Decorating

Good morning my readers!  I hope everyone is having a great day?  So, yesterday I decided to so some small decorating to me and my husbands house for Valentine's Day. I thought it turned out really cute the only problem is I should have gotten more ribbon from my local Wal-mart.  I have found decorating to be very calming and a great way to feel better after having a bad day. Now I did go a little crazy at my local dollar store to get decorations for the up coming holidays and I feel good about it.  Now I know there are people who don't like to and that's fine too. No judgment is going to come from me.  But I do have a question for those who do love to go all out.  What was the most exciting thing you found and how much did it cost and where did you get it?  OK so maybe three questions.  Like I said I found my stuff at the dollar store, Wal-mart, and Home Depot.  And before I forget I also found some cute stuff at a local consignment st...

First book review of 2022

Hello everyone!  Today's book review is about The Book Supremacy written by Kate Carlisle.  The book is about Brooklyn and her new husband Derek finding a dead body in a spy shop owned by one of Derek's old co-workers named Owen.  The book starts out in Paris and while there Derek runs into an old friend named Ned who is being watched by an unknown person.  Then things get really intense when Lark who is a co-worker of Derek's starts to get even meaner to Brooklyn.  Read more of the book to find out who and why one of the characters gets killed and what the connection is between all the killing.  I gave the book a five star rating. I love the author and I love how she goes into detail about book binding.  So please read this book and tell me what you thought of it.

Why?

Have you ever asked yourself why?  What made you question that thought or situation? I feel that at some point we ask ourselves this each and every day.  I have this moment all the time and I try to change my thought process but sometimes it doesn't always work out for me.  It sucks when you try to talk to people about how you are feeling and all they can say is either " That's on you", " Try harder," or " You'll get over it."  How are those helpful? They aren't. They make things worse for that person.  So, yes we become more quiet and not as outgoing.  I had this moment last week after work.  In my head I asked myself "What is the point in trying when all that happens is that I get yelled at or fingers snapping in my face?"  Yes, the second one did happen and let me tell you I was not happy about it at all. And no, I didn't say anything to my boss who was that one who did it. So I went home and cried until I gave myself a he...

Taking notes

Hello readers! I love this topic for the day and I will tell you why. I find that taking notes for anything that you are learning or listening to is so helpful.  When I listen to a lecture on You tube I will use my notebook and follow the class. I also use my notebook when I listen to a church sermon just so I can read back and feel something.  And yes I use a notebook when I start a job.  Now I know I sound like a nerd and that is OK, because I use one for a book list (only for books that I want to read.) I hope to look back one day I say to myself that I tried to learn new things and that I tried to grow mentally.  Now I know that people take notes differently or not at all.  That's OK.  I hope that you take the time to write until you can't.  Question of the day: How do you feel after taking notes Challenge of the day: Fill a notebook with any note and write how it made you feel
